Axios has tapped Madison Mills as a senior artificial intelligence reporter and co-author of the Axios AI+ newsletter.
Mills joins chief technology correspondent Ina Fried and tech policy reporters Ashley Gold and Maria Curi as the team covering AI.
Axios CEO Jim VandeHei identified “the dramatic effects of AI on business, society and work” as one of the three “once-in-a-generation changes unfolding in real-time” that Axios will focus its coverage on.
“Our technologies — in the speed, power, and life-enhancing or society-crippling capacities of AI — are the story of our generation. We will bluntly cover the good, the bad and the ugly of AI.”
Mills joined Axios in June 2025 as a senior markets reporter based in New York covering global markets and major economic developments in the Axios Markets newsletter. Before that, she anchored flagship programming at Yahoo Finance.
She has also worked for Bloomberg TV.
