SABEW’s Best in Business will open for entries on Dec. 1

The Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing’s Best in Business Awards will open for entries on Thursday, Dec. 1. The awards are among the most prestigious awards in business journalism.

This contest covers work published, broadcast and posted in the calendar year 2022.

The Best in Business contest is open to members of SABEW in good standing as of the date of entry. International submissions are encouraged.

Students don’t need to be members of SABEW to submit an entry. Non-member students who submit an entry will receive a free one-year student membership (a $25 savings).

Membership is defined by SABEW’s constitution and bylaws, particularly Article III. Good standing means SABEW received your membership dues, and your membership is current as of the date you submit your entries. For entries with more than one bylineone person must be a SABEW member in good standing.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
