Reorg promotes six editorial staffers to new roles

Reorg, a news service that covers distressed debt and corporate reorganizations, has promoted six of its editorial staffers to new positions.

They are:

Hoa Nguyen

Hoa P Nguyen

Nguyen was promoted to senior reporter at Reorg where she covers the municipal bond market. Nguyen joined Reorg in 2022 after tours with the American Banker’s Association, Coindesk and George Lucas’ Edutopia. She quickly established relationships with key municipal market conduits and consistently delivers a steady pipeline of origination and pricing scoops. She has since expanded her coverage area to include distressed and restructuring exclusives.

Gaurav Sharma

Gaurav Sharma

Sharma was promoted to the position of senior reporter at Reorg, where he will continue his in-depth coverage of junk bonds and corporate restructuring. Sharma has reported on debt-saddled companies like Audacy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples, At Home among many others. Sharma joined Reorg as a distressed debt reporter in March 2021. Prior to working in the U.S., Sharma was based in Beijing as a China correspondent for IANS. Sharma holds a master’s degree in financial journalism from New York University.

Harvard Zhang

Harvard Zhang

Zhang was promoted as Reorg Americas’ deputy managing editor of distressed debt. Prior to joining Reorg seven years ago, Zhang was a reporter at Bloomberg News, where he covered company debt across the ratings scale on the corporate finance team. He has a B.E. in energy and resources engineering from Peking University in Beijing and an M.A. in business journalism from Northwestern University.

Brumby was promoted to deputy managing editor of performing credit at Reorg. In his new role, Brumby will expand Reorg’s coverage into the U.S. CLO and private credit markets while continuing his oversight of the municipal desk. Brumby joined Reorg in 2021 after working for 15 years at Debtwire, where he cut his teeth reporting on distressed residential and commercial real estate, then the collapse of Lehman Brothers and the Great Financial Crises. The monoline fallout led him to the municipal bond market where he covered Puerto Rico’s credit. In 2018, he pivoted to the structured and private credit markets, then jumped back into the distressed trenches for the Covid19 pandemic. He graduated from SUNY Albany in 2002.

Geoff Burrows

Geoff Burrows

Geoff Burrows has been promoted to senior reporter at Reorg. In his new role as senior reporter, Burrows will continue to report on distressed debt and leveraged finance. Prior to joining Reorg in August 2022, Burrows was a commercial real estate analyst after graduating from the University of Toronto.
