
Patrick Donahue has been named Germany economy and government editor at Bloomberg News.
He has been a European government editor. Donahue previously covered German politics and government for Bloomberg, with a focus on Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Donahue has covered the breakdown of the trans-Atlantic relationship during the Trump presidency, the European refugee crisis, the EU response to Russia’s seizure of Crimea – and all the moving parts of the Euro crisis, including bailout politics, monetary policy and sovereign-bond spreads.
Donahue has been with Bloomberg since 2001 and holds a master’s degree from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
