Good morning —
We’re thrilled to welcome Cheyenne Haslett, who joined POLITICO’s White House team this week to help lead coverage of health care and technology policy from the administration.
Cheyenne will work closely with our health care and tech teams to bring dedicated, subscriber-focused policy coverage that deepens our understanding of how the administration shapes — and is shaped by — major decisions in those areas. Building on the successful model established by our Congress team in seamlessly integrating policy reporting from Capitol Hill, Cheyenne’s work will ensure POLITICO subscribers are first to know how the White House is thinking about and driving the country’s most consequential policy debates.
Cheyenne joins us after eight years at ABC News, where she spent the past four as the network’s White House policy reporter, breaking news and delivering enterprise stories on health, education, and economic policy for both digital platforms and flagship programs including Good Morning America, World News Tonight, Nightline, and This Week. She earned a Murrow Award for her lead role producing Accountable, ABC’s weekly deep-dive political podcast.
Last year, Cheyenne served as a journalist in residence at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business Stigler Center, where she studied alongside MBA and public policy students and participated in seminars led by Nobel laureates.
Cheyenne brings a unique understanding of how federal policy plays out — from Washington decision-making to its implementation in city halls and statehouses across the country, as well as its impact on the campaign trail. She is deeply sourced inside key federal agencies, with both career civil servants and political appointees. She has also traveled extensively with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., offering nuanced insights into how and why his message resonates with critical political constituencies.
Cheyenne’s arrival at POLITICO further strengthens our White House operation at a moment of extraordinary change in politics and policy. The team is delivering agenda-setting journalism — capturing the inner workings of the Trump administration and breaking market-moving policy news ahead of our competitors.
Please join us in welcoming Cheyenne Haslett to our newsroom!
