Emily Cohn, deputy editor in chief of Insider, sent out the following on Thursday:
Hello, team!
Some news: In the past few months, Olivia Oran has broadened the focus of her role beyond subscriptions strategy and now works with teams across the Insider newsroom. To reflect that, we’re changing Olivia’s title to head of content strategy.
Her mission in this role is to ensure that our editorial teams are focused on the stories and coverage strategies that will help us hit our goals.
Last month, Olivia helped us refine our breaking news SEO strategy, which is a perfect example of the kind of work she’ll be doing in her role.
In Q3, she’ll be prioritizing:
- Auditing freelance spend across the traffic, premium, and video teams
- Helping teams better utilize their archives
- Partnering with TrafficSwat to help us spot, analyze, and diagnose traffic trends
- Among many other things
Olivia has had an impact on the subscription side of the newsroom for years and I’m thrilled we’ll now have her focusing on other parts of the newsroom as well.
If you have projects you’d like Olivia’s help with, please let me know.
Emily
