OC Biz Journal reporter Rohit dies of heart attack

Parimal M. Rohit, a reporter who covered real estate for the Orange County Business Journal, died Tuesday from a heart attack.

A story on its website states, “‘Parimal’s death was sudden and a shock to all on our staff,’ said Peter J. Brennan, Editor in Chief of the Business Journal. ‘He is missed by everyone at the Business Journal.’

“See the Oct. 13 print edition of the Orange County Business Journal for a special dedication to Parimal.”

Rohit joined the Business Journal in 2024. Rohit had been at CoStar Group in Austin covering local real estate news. He previously was a reporter at the Austin Business Journal.

Rohit also worked as a reporter for 12 years at IndiaWest in Southern California for the Bay Area-based ethnic newspaper. He also worked at the Santa Monica Mirror and Pasadena Now.

He has a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a master’s degree from the University of San Francisco.
