NY Times biz editor moving to new role

Lachlan Cartwright of Breaker reports that New York Times business editor Ellen Pollock will move to a new role at the paper.

Cartwright reports, “But we have now learned that Pollock, who has presided over The Times’ biz day coverage for coming up on a decade, is retiring as Business Editor but staying at The Gray Lady in a capacity that will soon be announced, according to people familiar with the situation.

“There are a number of successors waiting in the wings at the Times. Tech Editor Pui-Wing Tam and Economics Editor Deborah Solomon are two names that have been suggested as potential replacements for Pollock. Pollock and a spokesperson for The New York Times declined to comment.”
