Christina Wilkie

NBC managing editor for business and economics coverage Mike Calia sent out the following to the staff:

We are excited to announce that award-winning journalist Christina Wilkie will join the NBC News Business and Economy Unit as a Senior Editor based in Washington.

Christina comes to us after eight years at CNBC Digital, most recently serving as the Senior Editor of the Politics and Economy desk.

There, she developed a reputation for collaborative leadership, high news metabolism and deep expertise about money in politics. Christina oversaw a team of reporters covering how federal policy shapes business, markets and the economy. She also led CNBC Digital’s breaking news coverage of major stories such as the 2024 election and President Trump’s attempt to reshape global trade.

Previously, Christina worked as a reporter for 15 years on both business and politics beats. She joined CNBC in 2017 to cover the Trump administration, after building her career as a reporter at HuffPost, The Hill and Washington Life. She worked with a team at the nonprofit Center for Public Integrity (CPI) that in 2018 won both national and regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for pioneering new ways to make government officials’ financial disclosures publicly accessible.

Her reporting has appeared across NBC News’ platforms, and she has been a guest on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” NBC News NOW, BBC and NPR.

Christina will work with our partners across platforms, bureaus and units to help drive NBC News’ coverage of business and consumer issues, and how the Trump administration is reshaping the economy.

Please join the Biz Unit in welcoming Christina to NBC News. Her first day is Sept. 29.
