Marketwatch.com has hired William Gavin as a tech reporter based in New York.
Most recently, Gavin was a staff writer for Quartz.
He also covered business breaking news for The Messenger with a focus on transportation, the automotive industry, and labor issues. He reported on the UAW strikes, the EV transition, and the latest news from the world’s largest car makers.
He has also written about federal and state lobbying and campaign finance for OpenSecrets.
A Long Island native, Gavin has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in journalism from Quinnipiac University.
