Latina history at Houston Chronicle, new Fox Memphis investigative reporter, CBC to cut 600

Alejandra Matos (pictured) has joined the Houston Chronicle as managing editor for audience and content strategy. This makes her the first Latina to hold the post and to appear on the newsroom’s masthead. Kayla Solomon has taken on the role of investigative reporter at WHBQ-TV Ch. 13, a Fox affiliate in Memphis, and at the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., 600 jobs will be eliminated.
