James Kynge, the Europe-China correspondent at the Financial Times, is leaving the publication after 28 years.
“I offer heartfelt thanks to everyone — executives, analysts, officials, activists and, of course, many terrific FT and Nikkei colleagues — who have helped me understand the beats I covered,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
He has been writing about China’s interactions — geopolitical, technological, economic and in other fields — with European countries. A former bureau chief in Beijing, he has also had postings in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, the Central Asia republics and Mongolia.
A winner of numerous awards for journalism, his 2009 book “China Shakes the World” was translated into 19 languages.
