Geoff Weiss has joined Insider as senior creator economy reporter on the media business desk.
He’ll cover creator entrepreneurship as well as the platforms fueling the influencer ecosystem, from stalwarts like YouTube to the ever-growing faction of startups servicing the space.
Prior to joining Insider, Weiss served as the senior editor of Tubefilter, one of the first websites to exclusively cover the digital media industry. At Tubefilter, he helped shape editorial strategy, with daily hits about key policy decisions and product developments at YouTube, the evolution of monetization and influencer marketing, and larger investigations into industry trends and creator controversies.
Geoff has hosted panels at industry events including VidCon, the Future of Television conference, and Buffer Festival.
Prior to joining Tubefilter, he was an early follower of the creator economy as a staff writer at Entrepreneur, writing feature profiles and viral lists about key figures.
Geoff holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from New York University.
