Monica Melton has joined Insider as senior tech editor.
She previously served as the managing editor of The Plug Insights, and covered innovation, technology, and venture capital at Forbes. She has also covered politics at Politico, and entertainment for Time Out New York.
She studied at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and the University of Washington, and brings expertise to the intersection of technology, finance, race, and entrepreneurship.
Melton will help run Insider’s growing Big Tech news team, which covers the world’s most powerful companies, entrepreneurs and technologies.
“Our team has doubled in size since the summer, so I’m grateful such a talented editor is joining to help lead this group,” said Alistair Barr, deputy technology editor at Insider. “We will continue to recruit top journalists to cover beats including YouTube, Apple, and the tech supply chain.”
