Insider has hired Tanya Chen as a senior reporter on the media desk covering influencers, the creator economy and the business of social-media platforms.
Chen was previously at BuzzFeed News as a senior reporter on the social news team. There, she covered internet culture, the creator economy, and things that intersect. She helped launch its first “Please Like Me” newsletter on these subjects.
Prior to Chen’s time on the news team at BuzzFeed News, she spent a number of years as a generalist writer for BuzzFeed, helping shape its listicle lore.
She has also written for music and hip hop publications like Miss Info and Vibe Magazine.
