Alicia A. Caldwell, who covers immigration for The Wall Street Journal, was among the layoffs on Thursday.
She was focusing on everything from border security to the impacts of immigration inside the U.S. She joined the Journal from the Associated Press in August 2017.
Caldwell has reported on immigration since 2005, starting at the border in El Paso, Texas, before moving to Washington and now Los Angeles. She started her career as a crime reporter in Philadelphia and later Orlando
Caldwell is a graduate of the University of Arizona and also earned a master’s degree in journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
