Amy Hawkins, a news editor at The Economist, has left to join The Guardian as senior China correspondent.
She will begin in February.
Hawkins joined The Economist in 2020 as a foreign affairs writer. Previously, she was a researcher at Columbia Global Reports and worked at Time Out Beijing as an editorial assistant, digital content manager and deputy editor.
Hawkins has a B.A. from the University of Cambridge.
