
Andrea Hanis, editor of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, died Wednesday from cancer. She was 56.
Hanis directed the newsroom’s digital expansion to align with the company’s growth goals.
Previously, she was an editorial writer at the Chicago Tribune.
Before that, she launched Blue Sky Innovation at the Tribune. Blue Sky Innovation was a groundbreaking approach to covering technology and entrepreneurship through news stories, profiles and live events.
She was also an assistant managing editor at Crain’s Chicago Business and a travel editor at Chicago Sun-Times.
Hanis has a B.A. in journalism and history from Indiana University Bloomington.
