Gizmodo journalists reach labor agreement

Gizmodo’s editorial staff has reached a deal on a new collective bargaining agreement via the Writers Guild of America East, reports Katie Campione of Deadline.

Campione reports, “Per the WGAE, the 14-member bargaining unit unanimously ratified the contract, marking the first since the tech and science outlet was acquired by Keleops Media in 2024. Gizmodo was previously part of the G/O Media Union alongside Jalopnik, Kotaku, QZ, The Root and The Onion.

“‘The Gizmodo USA Union is excited to have a new contract with Keleops. We are looking forward to continuing to cover the tech industry with integrity. We’re excited to collaborate with management and grow in ways we were stifled before,’ the bargaining unit said in a statement Monday.

“The three-year contract maintains the G/O Media Union contract that the staff was previously operating under while also building in some new gains for Gizmodo staff, including guaranteed 3% annual raises.”
