Gizmodo senior reporter Thomas Germain is leaving the technology news site to become a tech reporter for BBC News.
He has been covering privacy, advertising technology and algorithms for Gizmodo.
Germain had previously been at Consumer Reports and had been covering privacy, digital rights and life on the internet. He interned at Consumer Reports while in college.
Germain is a graduate of Columbia University in American studies. While there, he was editor in chief of The Federalist, a satirical newspaper.
