FT shuts CPG Specialist

The Financial Times has closed its CPG Specialist publication, part of its Money-Media operation, a spokeswoman confirmed to Talking Biz News.

It had a full-time editorial staff of three.

The publication covered the changing dynamics of U.S. consumer behavior and buying patterns and how those trends impact food and beverage manufacturers. Its focus was on merchandising, distribution and marketing of consumer goods.

Shefali Kapadia was the managing editor. Before joining FT and Money-Media, Kapadia was the lead editor of Supply Chain Dive, and she previously worked in radio and TV production.

S.L. Fuller was an associate editor at CPG Specialist. Before joining Money-Media, she was a journalist covering the supply chain and trucking industries, with previous experience covering aviation.

Lauren Elkies Schram was a senior reporter at CPG Specialist. She is a seasoned journalist having covered real estate, business, crime, politics and general news as a reporter and editor for more than 20 years.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
