Valentina Pop has been named Europe news editor for the Financial Times.
She will be moving to London in 2023.
She has been editing its Brussels Briefing newsletter. She previously has been at The Wall Street Journal, where she wrote about European politics, international courts, migration and other related topics in Brussels. She had been at the Journal since March 2015.
Previously, Pop was a reporter with EUobserver, a Brussels-based online news service, for seven years and a contributor to The Economist.
She has been reporting on the EU since 2005.
Pop holds a bachelor’s degree from Universitatea „Babeș-Bolyai” din Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
