Fortune hires Garfinkle as senior finance reporter

Alexandra Garfinkle

Fortune magazine has hired Alexandra Garfinkle as a senior finance reporter for its “Term Sheet” newsletter.

She has been at Yahoo Finance as a senior technology reporter since March 2022.

Garfinkle has previously been at P&C Specialist, part of Money-Media, a Financial Times operation. Garfinkle was previously a reporter at The Deal, part of Euromoney Institutional Investor, where she covered consumer goods, retail and REITS.

Garfinkle previously worked at Forbes on the wealth team.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree from New York University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
