Former Washington Post media reporter Sarah Ellison has been tapped to write for Politico Magazine through the end of the year.
She had been covering the media business for The Post since 2017 before being laid off earlier this year. Before that, she was a special correspondent at Vanity Fair and a frequent contributor to the magazine’s blog, Hive.
Ellison spent a decade as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal in Paris, London and New York before joining the magazine. She started her journalism career in the Paris bureau of Newsweek.
Her 2010 book, “War at the Wall Street Journal,” chronicles Rupert Murdoch’s unsolicited takeover of the Dow Jones news empire. The book was named one of Bloomberg’s Top 50 Business Books. She has served as a contributor to CNBC and has appeared frequently on NBC, MSNBC, Frontline, and CNN.
Ellison graduated with honors from the University of Virginia.
