Politico reporter Katherine Foley has left the publication to become director of media relations at the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World.
She had been covering the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
She previously worked at Quartz, where she covered health and science issues for the past six years.
Foley holds a master’s in journalism from NYU’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program (SHERP 33) and an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where she studied science, tech and international affairs.
