Five NYT opinion promotions, arts ed move at SF Chronicle, Guardian’s new sports reporter

Big moves at the New York Times, which has promoted five women to new posts in its lauded Opinion section. At the San Francisco Chronicle, Shwanika Narayan (pictured) has moved from the business news desk to become assistant arts editor. And please resist all quidditch/Harry Potter puns: Jack Snape has joined The Guardian as a sports reporter.
