Jared Whitlock
Features editor Jared Whitlock is leaving Endpoints News after nearly four years to freelance.
“I’ve been lucky to be a part of Endpoints as the newsroom doubled in size, picked up numerous awards and gained readers,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
Before Endpoints, he worked freelance for outlets, including the San Diego Union-Tribune, Patch.com and San Diego Magazine. He was a Knight Science journalism fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He formerly served as a health care, biotech and projects reporter at the San Diego Business Journal and was an associate editor at Encinitas Advocate, San Diego Union-Tribune Community Press.
He covered community affairs, ranging from crime to city council meetings for The Coast News Group in San Diego.
Whitlock has a B.A. in journalism from San Diego State University.
