
The Economist has named Gavin Jackson its South Asia economics correspondent.
He will be based in Mumbai.
Jackson has been an economics and finance correspondent covering climate change and capital markets in London. He occasionally writes the Free Exchange column. Before working at the Economist he was at the Financial Times for eight years, writing the leader column and reporting on economics.
He has degrees from the University of Oxford and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. His first book “Money In One Lesson” was published in January 2022.
