Economist Enterprise — the B2B arm of The Economist Group, which helps organizations navigate macroeconomic and geopolitical volatility — has hired former Wired UK editor-in-chief Greg Williams to the newly created role of global head of technology and innovation thought leadership.

In this role, he will oversee Economist Enterprise’s Tech Frontiers leadership initiative, which equips business leaders and policymakers with the information needed to shape the future of AI for social and economic good.

“It is difficult to imagine a more consequential moment to explore how technology is reshaping organizations, economies, government and society – or a better place to do it,” said Williams in a statement. “Economist Enterprise’s analytical rigor, global expertise and commitment to evidence-based insight make it an unparalleled platform for this work and I’m thrilled to be joining the team.”

Williams was with Wired for 16 years, and was editor of Wired UK for the past nine years. He previously was executive editor of print and digital.

He was also executive editor of Details Magazine. He had previously joined Exponential View as its inaugural executive editor.
