Patrick Donahue is becoming a European government editor for Bloomberg News.
He will be focusing on eastern European politics and economy and staying in Berlin.
Donahue has been covering German politics and government since 2010 for Bloomberg, with a focus on Chancellor Angela Merkel.
In recent years he has covered the breakdown of the trans-Atlantic relationship during the Trump presidency, the European refugee crisis, the EU response to Russia’s seizure of Crimea – and all the moving parts of the Euro crisis, including bailout politics, monetary policy and sovereign-bond spreads.
Donahue has been with Bloomberg since 2001 and holds a master’s degree from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
