Jonathan Passantino
Oliver Darcy’s “Status” media newsletter has hired Jonathan Passantino, a CNN deputy managing editor, to be executive editor.
Passantino has been with CNN for more than five years.
He has been the editorial leader of CNN’s daily news coverage of the media industry and editor of the acclaimed “Reliable Sources” newsletter, which Darcy previously wrote, chronicling the ever-changing media, technology and entertainment landscape.
Passantino previously spent six years at BuzzFeed. He also worked at AOL and Fox News, as well as the Ventura County Star. He is a graduate of San Jose State University.
