Emma Cosgrove has been named editorial director of artificial intelligence innovation at Business Insider.
“We have to keep a wary eye on the threat that AI poses to the business of journalism,” she wrote on LinkedIn. “But we also have to run as fast as we can toward the opportunities. Most importantly, we have to keep up with readers. And they are moving fast.”
She has been a senior reporter and has been on a book leave to write a book about the history of the Girl Scout Cookie.
Cosgrove covers Nvidia, GPUs, and the broader artificial intelligence ecosystem. She was a 2023-2024 Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia Journalism School.
Before joining Business Insider’s tech team, she covered logistics companies like UPS and FedEx with a focus on e-commerce. She also covered the supply chain turmoil brought on by the pandemic and she was a lead reporter on Insider’s 2022 SABEW award-winning “Warehouse Nation” project.
