Kathryn Cargo, a business reporter at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times in Texas, was among the Gannett layoffs on Friday.
Cargo had been at the paper since March 2019 and also covered city government.
She previously was a business and agriculture news reporter at the Victoria Advocate, which is also in Texas.
Cargo holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Texas A&M Kingsville.
