Cincinnati Biz Courier promotes Brownfield to managing editor

Andy Brownfield

The Cincinnati Business Courier has promoted senior reporter Andy Brownfield to managing editor.

He replaces Tom Demeropolis, who has been promoted to editor in chief.

Demeropolis writes, “Brownfield is a former Business Courier intern who returned to Cincinnati in June 2013 to take a role as a reporter. He has covered technology, restaurants, startups, the legal industry, GE Aerospace and Procter & Gamble. In October 2021, Brownfield was named senior reporter. He also is responsible for the conception and the successful launch of the Courier’s podcast ‘Above the Fold.’

“Prior to joining the Courier, Brownfield covered state-level politics in Maryland, Alabama, Ohio and Illinois. He earned a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield and a bachelor’s degree from the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.

“‘Andy is an innovator and I am excited to see the great partnership with newly appointed Editor-in-Chief Tom Demeropolis,’ Jamie Smith, market president and publisher of the Business Courier, said. ‘I am excited to see Andy elevate to this next level.'”
