Chen joins STAT to cover the heart beat

STAT News has hired Elaine Chen to develop a new beat as its first cardiovascular reporter.

Chen will cover all aspects of heart and metabolic conditions, including diabetes and obesity.

Recently, Chen was at Bloomberg, where she worked as a cross-asset reporter, rotational reporter and finance reporting intern. She also interned at The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune Media Group, The Sacramento Bee and Chalkbeat.

Chen has a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
