Frank Catalano, who returned to the Cascadia Daily News paper in Washington to write an email business newsletter in February, is leaving to due to the firing of its executive editor.
On LinkedIn, Catalano writes:
But with Ron’s firing, I’m wrapping it up. Ron wasn’t just CDN’s exec editor, he was the editor for my monthly newsletter. This week’s Business Matters with Frank Catalano was the last.
The ownership — Syre — and the business side leadership have broken my confidence in the direction of the organization. From this business journalist’s and former longtime business executive’s perspective, the firing is a business mistake, too.
It’s also a personal decision I have the luxury to make. I don’t depend on my income from CDN.
