Julie Bykowicz, who wrote for The Wall Street Journal about money and influence in Washington, was among the layoffs last week.
She has covered campaign finance, presidential and congressional elections, the White House and Congress, and national policy issues since 2011.
She joined the Journal in 2017, after working at the Associated Press and Bloomberg News. Before that, she spent a decade as a crime reporter in Baltimore for the Baltimore Sun.
Bykowicz is a University of Missouri graduate.
