Business Insider’s Metzger leaving for law school

Bryan Metzger

Business Insider senior politics reporter Bryan Metzger is leaving the news organization at the end of the week.

He will enter law school at the University of Michigan in the fall.

He has been covering Congress, money in politics, and the intersection of the two with business and tech. He also covers prediction market platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi.

Previously, he covered money in politics and elections in his home state for New Mexico in Depth. He’s also written for POLITICO Magazine.

Metzger is a graduate of Stanford University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
