Business Insider’s Lopez joins hedge fund

Linette Lopez

Business Insider senior finance correspondent Linette Lopez has been hired as director of strategy and communications at ValueWorks, a hedge fund.

“After 13 years covering Wall Street, I’m excited to play the game from a different position,” she wrote on LinkedIn.

Lopez joined Business Insider in June 2011 as finance editor. She previously was a staff person in the New York State Senate.

Lopez holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Columbia University.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
