Ankler, which covers the entertainment industry, has hired Alison Brower as its executive editor.
Brower was Los Angeles bureau chief at Business Insider before leaving in February. She will report to Ankler CEO and Editor-in-Chief Janice Min and will work closely with her and co-founder Richard Rushfield.
As Los Angeles bureau chief, Brower led a bicoastal team covering the business of entertainment and the digital transformation of Hollywood. Prior to Business Insider, Brower was the deputy editor for arts and entertainment at the Los Angeles Times, where she spearheaded cultural and business coverage as well as investigative features on celebrities and longstanding L.A. institutions.
Earlier in her career, Brower served as the deputy editorial director at The Hollywood Reporter from 2014-2019, leading entertainment, culture, and news coverage and was the architect of the magazine’s high-wattage power lists and other special projects.
“I’m thrilled to be reunited with Janice and join Ankler Media as they continue to expand and redefine entertainment business journalism,” said Brower in a statement. “The Ankler has continued to consistently deliver bold, insightful coverage and I’m excited to contribute to its next phase of growth.”
