Business Insider in recent weeks increased the volume of advertisements on its website, according to people familiar with the matter, reports Oliver Darcy of Status.
Darcy writes, “The ad cadence on story pages is now, for some users, as frequent as once every two paragraphs. The move coincided with BI largely abandoning its paywall this holiday season as it attempts to bolster revenue.
“As Status previously reported, heading into the holiday season, the Barbara Peng-led digital outlet was on track to miss revised revenue targets.”
