He covers important macro and micro economic stories, including takes from leading economists and hedge fund managers, breaking IPOs, corporate bankruptcies, meme stocks and short-selling. He also writes on other markets such as crypto, oil and real estate.
O’Brient previously was at TheStreet.com as a tech markets reporter. He spent the last three years as a reporter for InvestorPlace.com.
O’Brient also worked as a political reporter for Curiosity Shots and as an economic policy analyst for US Resist News.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College and a master’s degree from Trinity College in Dublin.
