Business Insider hires Hoover to cover tech

Amanda Hoover

Business Insider has hired Amanda Hoover as a senior correspondent covering technology.

She previously was at Wired covering tech and was also at Morning Brew covering the some beat.

Before, Hoover was a reporter at NJ Advance Media. She has also covered breaking crime news for the Boston Globe metro section and has also worked as a weekend reporter covering political events, academics and protests. She was also a rapid response team writer at The Christian Science Monitor and has also interned at Boston Magazine.

She has also edited for Tastemakers Music Magazine and The Huntington News, both in Boston.

Hoover has a B.A. in journalism from Northeastern University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
