Business Insider has hired Chernikoff as senior editor

Sara Chernikoff

Sara Chernikoff  has joined Business Insider as senior editor for the insights and analytics team, where she will help shape editorial strategy through data-informed storytelling and audience insight.

In this role, Chernikoff will partner with journalists across the newsroom to surface trends, uncover what resonates with readers, and identify opportunities to grow and deepen engagement. She will report to Michael Ejigu, vice president of insights and analytics.

Sara joins Business Insider from USA Today, where she was a data and graphics reporter covering breaking news, affordability, and demographic trends. Her story “Visualizing death and destruction in Gaza,” earned an Editor & Publisher Award for Best Use of Data/Infographics.

Originally from Seattle, Chernikoff is relocating to New York. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
