Business Insider editor in chief Jamie Heller sent out the following to the staff:
A year ago this week, I joined Business Insider with a mission to make this great publication even better. Since then, we’ve sharpened our focus on what our name promises (business!), and how it matters to your career, your financial future, and your daily life. We’ve also gone deeper inside the world’s most important companies, delivering more exclusive, essential reporting. We’ve revealed how much Microsoft pays its staff, how Andy Jassy is trying to change the culture at Amazon, and how AT&T’s CEO is trying to reinvent the company. We’re on the frontlines on how AI is reshaping work, separating help from hype in consulting, law, and startups. We’ve examined the hidden costs of AI data centers in neighborhoods. We’ve launched ambitious series such as 80 over 80 about working later in life and Power Hours on leaders’ often-quirky daily routines. In health, we’ve profiled younger adults diagnosed with colon cancer far too early.
We’ve also expanded how we tell stories. Our award-winning video is increasingly woven into our daily coverage. We’ve launched new newsletters — Tech Memo, Defense Flash, and soon First Trade. And we’re bringing our journalism to life with live events.
All of this is possible because of our passionate newsroom — and because of you. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. I’d love to hear from you at: EIC@businessinsider.com. Here’s to what we’ll build together in the year ahead.
