Business Insider deputy EIC Turner is departing

Matt Turner

Business Insider’s Matt Turner, deputy editor in chief, sent out the following on Monday:

Hello!

Today is my last day at Business Insider.

I’ve read (and edited) a lot of careers advice in my time here. The best might be the simplest: a great job is one where you love the work you’re doing, and the people you’re doing it with.

BI has been a great job. I feel lucky to have spent the past nine and a half years in this newsroom. I’ll remain an avid reader and subscriber for many years to come.

He started at Insider in July 2015 as finance editor, before helping build its markets, investing, healthcare, and advertising teams. He was a part of the launch team for Markets Insider, a markets news and data site, and Insider’s subscription offering, which now spans the newsroom.

He was previously the U.S. editor at Dow Jones-owned title Financial News. He also led the investment-banking team at Financial News in London.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
