Emily Cohn, deputy editor in chief at Business Insider for the past four-plus years, is leaving the news organization.
“My dream has always been to help shape the future of digital journalism, and BI has allowed me to do just that,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
She had previously been the executive growth editor at Insider, leading all audience expansion initiatives for Business Insider and Insider.
Cohn built the company’s first-ever growth team, which arms the newsroom with audience data and insights. She also oversaw Insider’s search engine optimization strategy and manages multiple teams of reporters and editors experimenting with new ways to tell stories.
She was formerly Business Insider’s senior business editor and managing editor of Tech Insider.
Previously, Cohn worked at HuffPost as business editor and was the founding editor of the site’s personal finance section.
