Business Business Journal digital editor Steph Solis is leaving to cover Boston for Axios.
She will start next week.
“I’ve loved working with this group of journalists more than I can say,” she wrote on Twitter. “They are smart, tenacious and kind, and I’m better for knowing them. Bittersweet doesn’t begin to cover how I’ve felt the last few days.”
Solis joined the Business Journal a year ago after being the a statehouse and immigration reporter for MassLive.com based in Boston.
Solis previously was an immigration reporter for the USA Today Network, specifically the Asbury Park Press and the North Jersey Record.
At Boston University, she uncovered complaints that a new professor with multiple perks had abandoned her class to promote her book. She also covered the chaos of the Boston Marathon bombing and the manhunt that brought the city to a halt.
As an intern at the Indianapolis Star, she explored the city’s startup culture and chronicled a teen pilot’s dream of flying around the world until his plane crashed in the Pacific Ocean.
