Bloomberg hires Volpicelli to cover Europe tech

Gian Volpicelli

Gian Volpicelli has been hired by Bloomberg News to cover tech in Europe.

He previously was at Politico Europe covering technology. He also worked as a  senior writer covering tech and society at Wired.

Volpicelli joined Wired as a contributing editor in 2017 and then served as a senior editor. He worked freelance for Vice. He was a U.S. correspondent, columnist, book reviewer, London correspondent and editor at The Post Internazionale in Roma, Lazio.

He interned at The Center for Investigative Journalism.

Volpicelli has master’s degrees from Luiss Guido Carli University and City, University of London.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
