Bloomberg News has hired Dan Strumpf to cover India politics and the economy.
He formerly covered technology and corporate news in Asia for The Wall Street Journal.
He wrote about some of China’s biggest tech companies including Huawei and Xiaomi, as well as broader topics like China’s semiconductor industry and multinational companies operating in China.
In 2018, Strumpf was part of a team that won the Gerald Loeb Award for international reporting for coverage of China’s surveillance state.
He previously covered energy and financial markets for the Journal in New York. Before joining the Journal, he worked for the Associated Press covering the automotive industry and other business beats.
